After the best result of the season so far at Melbourne, Britten Racing has been forced to restructure its current processes as its new partner Pacific caused difficulties.

The major cause of the problem was the car designers and engineers who threatened to quit if they were forced to keep working 20 hour days.

Their work on the new Pacific car was not completed in time to allow it to reach its best performance, as the result shows. Britten owner Brendon Maw has also been appointed as a league official, thus limiting the time he has to spend checking on technology improvements.

The whole engine division has been closed, as the Britten engine costs have risen so sharply. The management has completed a late deal with Supertec Sport to allow it to use the Supertec FB02 engine for the rest of the season.

The engine may not be as good as the Britten one, but is very competitive and the Britten chassis is good enough to make up the slight lack of power.

The new engine will be tested at Monza this weekend.
