The Red Arrows GPVWC team settled the contract dispute with BA Racing late last night.

BA Racing were angered when a driver on contract to them (Peter Knif) who was loaned to Red Arrows decided to retire from racing mid way through this season to take up an assistant manager role within Red Arrows.

Red Arrows will pay BA Racing compensation of $6000 which will come out of their budget for 2001.

Neil Robinson - BA team manager - commented "I am pleased to announce that Red Arrows have paid their dues and in turn admitted they had made a mistake. I am glad that this was sorted before the next race and wish them luck in attaining the goals they wanted with the new driver."

Red Arrows were not at all happy at having to pay the compensation and have requested that a more comprehensive set of rules be drawn up regarding contracts. These requirements have since been met and you can see the revised rules on the rules page of the website.

In other events today Red Arrows signed Kris Pusaka to their team to replace Knif while demoting Roald Reurink back to test driving duties and bringing Athanasios Brinias back into the number 2 race seat.

Peter Knif - Red Arrows assistant team manager - commented "$6000 was nothing - Red Arrows are going to wipe out the opposition in Spa".
