2010 Supercup Monaco Grand Prix

Christoph Lichtenstein won his first ever Supercup race in an accident-filled Monaco Grand Prix which claimed several important names and saw only one car finishing with full laps. Lichtenstein finished in front of championship contender Chris Williamson, while American Robert Rose clinched his first podium for Mineral GP.

After a surprisingly smooth start, pole sitter David Stanton managed to retain the lead and tried to break out, followed by Sam Millar and Williamson. However, after Millar's retirement on lap 6, the race settled and a war of attrition began, as car after car was picked out by Monaco's unforgiving streets. Chris Williamson was forced to do three stops, and when Stanton did a mistake and had to pit, German Lichtenstein found himself in the lead. However, Platform GP's Stanton soon started closing him up - only to spin at St. Devote and retiring when almost in the exhausts of the leader.

Stanton's retirement left Lichtenstein with a massive lead over the second, needing only to manage his advantage and nurse his car to the finishing line to catch his maiden victory.
