The German Sport Series event has been held since the 2012 World Sport Series season. In this year, the event took place on the on the Nordschleife and was the season finale. For 2013, the event was moved to the Nurburgring, Nürburg though retained its place as the season finale. For 2014, the venue has changed yet again; this time to the Hockenheimring, Hockenheim. The event has also lost its place as the season finale to the Italian Sport Series.
