Johan Lindberg is a Swedish sim-racer who participates for Deltec Racing Team in the 2017 Supercup season.

Early Years

Johan started with simracing in 2010. It began when a colleague brought his simrig to a corporate event. He was immediately bitten by how much fun it was, so he went out and bought me a Logitech Momo Wheel. The first series he drove was a Porsche Cup on Speedzone.se, and finished 6th in total. During this period he had some win and podium finishes. As the years went on, he wanted to find some more serious racing with full grids.

2015

Joined the YTF1 Team.

In 2015 Johan found out about GPVWC from Eric Stranne. He remembers seeing the first GPVWC FC race in Australia. "Man did it look like fun". But since he had no experience driving open wheelers, he set my goal for the Open Series. After a lot of practice he was ready for Bahrain. Johan made a good qualifying session, which led to a P6 start. His first race did not go as well, because he suffered a DNF after 6 turns! (hmmm, didn't Michael Schumacher also suffered a DNF in his first race?) Well, welcome to GPVWC mayhem! Luckily his next few races were better with more solid finishes. "To my big enjoyment, my results had opened the eyes of the team owner of YTF1, Matthew Allington". So in the 5th race of the GPVWC FC season he made his debut for the YTF1 team at the Turkish Grand Prix. Race1 ended in P35, but it was Race 2 i will remember the best. "I started in P35 going all the way up to score points in P14! What a race!!". The last half of this season were good, with lots of solid points finishes. "The best result was a P5 at The Belgian Grand Prix, a circuit that I love"! The season ended with a P23 with 57 points in the GPVWC Formula Challenge Championship. Biggest achievement of the year was that my pace got better and better.

2016

Continuing with YTF1 Team.

The move to rFactor2 was really good for me. My pace was even better than the previous rFactor. "Going into the first Formula Challenge race, I felt really confident in my driving. Unfortunately the first race was the start of lots of misfortune. In the end I got two P12 finishes. Not what I was hoping for. Especially since I got the Fastest lap in R1 in Australia, with a damaged car. First half of the season was mostly bad due to being pushed and wrecked a lot. Pace was there but the points were missing".

The second half was much better even though he had big technical computer issues in mostly Q and R1. First race of the second half was Hockenheimring. "Could this be the one? I had done thousands of laps here in preseason. I knew i was fast!". The quali didn't start to great, struggling to find some pace. At the last minute i made a good lap which got P2. But since Stephane had a grid penalty I got pole!. Pole on a track with good pace, this looks promising. Race 1 started and i made a great start holding P1 in turn 1. Found the pace at once and managed to keep James and the rest behind. I even managed to make a gap after a couple of laps and held the lead to the finish line. My first race win here! on GPVWC and the first one for YTF1. Finally some good solid driving. Race two ended as lots of races did in the first half.

After that i made some podiums and solid points finishes. Ending the season in P9 with 214 points.

Highlight of the year was of course my and the teams first victory.
