Squire Motorsports was a Welsh constructor who competed in the Formula Challenge series.

History

Squire Motorsports was Found by Ron Squire with his former team boss Roy Schroten on the 2nd of January 2013 and was one of the first teams to Unveil their new car called the SGP-R13 at Imola before the end of January that year.

2013 Season

in the GPVWC Formula Challenge Pre-Season tests in Jerez on the 12th February 2013, Ron was the only Squire Motorsports driver at the time due to the Driver Recruitment Drive not getting any replies at that moment in time, in the tests Race 1 he started well from the back and finished in 8th due to other drivers misfortunes but in the second race he had too much wheel spin forcing him to go into the wall and his Pre-Season test was over

on the day of the 2013 Challenge Australian Grand Prix, Ron still didnt have a partner but then his prayers were answers with Jarl Teien agreeing to take Driver Two seat for Melbourne only due to other commitments after the race

Race 1 in Australia was a disaster for Ron as he got caught up in the First Lap carnage and after pitting he called it quits as he had enough of that race, but for Jarl it was good as not only he scored the teams first points but their first podium.

Race 2 was worse for Ron as he caused 60% of the start line incident and he accidentally took off his teammate after trying to unlap himself which he apologized for after but he finished the race in 29th place while Jarl finished in 6th

before the Malaysian GP Ron has been given a Indefinite Parked Suspension until he cleaned up hios act and with Jarl has other commitments the team did not participate for the next three rounds until Spain when 2 new drivers took Ron and Jarls place (Rons Place is Temporary) by fellow Welshman Gav Mason and Greek rising star Dimitris Tsioumanis, Gav was unable to Participate in Barcelona, so Dimitris was the Sole driver in Spain when he retired in Race 1 due to contact with another driver and in Race 2 finished the race last with a broken Front Wing

the next race was Monaco and it was raining, due to Dimitris having other commitments, it was up to Gav in which he had a strong performance finishing in 13th place in Race 1 getting the teams first points since Melbourne and then the inevitable happened in which having started in 3rd place on the grid due to the top 15 reverse grid for Race 2 he survived the first corner carnage and Pulled away from the pack and as a result Gav scored his first win of his career and the first win for the team, Ron Squire (Team boss as well) was emotional and overjoyed with the victory and they both together made Wales stand tall at the most prestigious race of the Year

Canada was next and it wasnt a good turn out for the team as Dimitris retired from both races and Gav only managed a 17th and 18th place in Race 1 and 2.

Korea wasnt good either as Gav was the only car there as dimitris had other commitments, gav didnt do well and we were soon questioned about our pace after turkey when Dimitris failed to finish both races in Istanbul.

Then it was the 2013 Challenge British Grand Prix at silverstone and with gav gone until monza it was up to Dimitris but he wasnt alone in the race as Ron Squire returned after his Suspension and is much more confident than before, Race 1 Dimitris Retired in Both races because he complained about the pace of his car and in Race 1 Ron retired after he clipped one of the anticuts at Copse and Flew vertical ways 3 times into the adjutant Grandstand and destroying his car, However Race 2 was better for him as he avoided the the first lap carnage and after a couple of laps he went up to a year best 17th place in the race then pitted due to fuel miscalculation he did and went back out behind Ben Willis who was slower than him on the same lap when trying to pass him down into stowe Ben closed the door and the pair made contact Ron waited for Ben to go first in the question of Sportsmanship he tried again for the next couple of laps but Ben proved impossible to overtake however couple of laps after the incident he finally passed him on the inside of Brooklands, after that he had a lonely race until a coule of laps from the end when he encountered Cameron Brewster behind him after he fell behind due to a earlier incident with his fellow team mate Thomas Jacobs, Cameron went into battle with Ron just before the beginning of the last lap, but Ron proved to be a bit difficult to overtake and finished just infront of Cameron and as a result Ron finished his first race without being lapped, which he was happy about at his home grand prix.

Monza was next and it was a disaster for both Ron and Gav as they both didnt start the race properly due to gav not getting to the race intime and Ron opted to start from the pitlane due to massive lag due to over 37 people taking part and Ron was stuck in pitlane for a long time that eventually called it quits after being lapped 2 times in pits and he along with Gav didnt make it to the grid in time, so it was another race that the team regretted would happen and they hope that Belgium would be better for them and hoping to root for a second victory of the season

but in Belgium, Gav Mason announced that he will be withdrawing from the FC Season from Spa onwards, which means, Ron moves back up as team leader, with Dimitris as Number 2 and Belgium turned out to be another disaster as Dimitris Failed to turn up and Ron had Severe Internal Issues, which forced him out of the race

Next is France and Ron hoped for a better result, despite his constant lagging he kept on going until about 5-6 laps from the end when his connection failed, Dimitris failed to turn up again, which led Ron to find a Emergency Driver for the season and Francisco Maldonado was the man for the job

USA Next and Ron was really feeling the pressure and it all went well until Distraction issues kicked in from other drivers and his team radio (Family at home) when he was angry but didn't release it until he accidentally touched Mike Schroten's Measuric Racing car and spun out, which led Ron to a Fury on the Forums and this led to his Banning from the League from the Head Admin Who did not see the real damage at all (and hasnt still seen it) and decided to Punish the Victim and Ban him (Ron) from the League and as a result Squire Motorsports was no more
