The GPVWC Vintage Series was one of the latest additions to the league for 2016 before its cancellation just three rounds into the first season. It ran monthly on non-Career Ladder Tuesdays.

The series had two primary aims; to provide a series for those who do not yet have the ability to upgrade to the rFactor 2 platform whilst also acting as a Historic series. As such, the cars in use were a challenge to drive and rookies to the league had difficulty adapting. Following a standard 15 minute qualifying session, the drivers took part in a race equivalent to roughly 50% the race distance of Superleague races.

As the only series in 2016 to run rFactor, there was always a risk of low participation which turned out to be the case. With less than ten drivers attending Round 3 at Magny-Cours a decision was taken by the administration to bring a halt to the Vintage Series early as it had served its primary purpose of offering a series to those who could not race on rFactor 2.
