The 2019 Formula Challenge season will be the 8th GPVWC Formula Challenge season.
Contents
Teams and drivers
*Neosoft Engineering was initially included on the entry list, but removed thier entry prior to the beginning of the season. Their place on the entry list was taken by RTD Racing
*Orimila Grand Prix was initially included on the entry list, but removed thier entry prior to the beginning of the season. Their place on the entry list was taken by Razor GP Simracing Team
*Drillers Motorsport was initially included on the entry list, but were promoted to Supercup before the start of the season.
Team changes
Only 3 teams remained from the end of 2018 season; Apex, WSL and the GPVWC Academy team.
- Downforce Racing Team, Shift Gear Racing and Torrent Motorsports were promoted to Supercup for 2019.
- 2018 team champions Red Arrow Racing, Cenobite Motorsport, CM-Tech Racing, TR Motorsport, TTF Racing, Idos Motorsport (temporarily Schubert Motorsport Simracing), STAX Racing, Royal Blue Racing and Mayor Downard RT were all promoted directly to the new second-tier championship (tentatively known as "Superleague-2")
- McKinlay Engineering withdrew from the Career Ladder after 2018.
New entries
- Crossfire Competition, DriveGameSeat Racing Team, Fair Racing Team, GOTeam Racing, KC Racing Esports, Kellamity MTR, madotter iSimRS Racing, MouseOne Racing, Positive Energy Racing, PZZW Racing Team, Razor GP Simracing Team and Santen Motorsports all joined at the beginning of 2019.
Returning entries
- Drillers Motorsport, having technically merged with Torrent Motorsports from the 2018 Monaco round onwards, reappeared as a separate entry again in 2019.
- A new partnership announced by Apex in December 2018 saw the team re-branded as TSA Racing With Apex, marking the return of the TSA Racing name to the Career Ladder for the first time since 2015.
Technical changes

2019 Calendar
For 2019, the Career Ladder schedule has been radically adjusted, with Formula Challenge races moving from Tuesdays to Wednesday nights; furthermore, Formula Challenge races will now take place the week before the rest of the Career Ladder events.

Calendar changes
The 2019 calendar was reduced from 18 down to 16 rounds.
- The Chinese, French, Austrian, Hungarian and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix were removed from the calendar.
- The Malaysian, Bahrain and Turkish Grands Prix made a return after a gap of four and two seasons absent respectively.
