Revision as of 08:21, 15 February 2015
Starting with the 2015 season, all teams competing in the Career Ladder would partake in a numbering system in which the teams could chose their own numbers and retain them throughout their time in the Ladder, regardless of the level in which they were competing. Teams could chose any number from #2 to #99, although teams competing in the Superleague were allowed first choice, followed by the Supercup and then Formula Challenge. Order of preference would be deemed by the finishing order of the previous season.
#1 would always be reserved for the reigning Superleague champion. As all Supercup and Formula Challenge champions automatically progress to the next series, #1 does not exist in either series anyway.
It is known that, outside of this process, that the test cars of the 14 Superleague teams were internally designated numbers between #101 and #114 inclusive.
Provision was made to assign #0 to a single-car team admitted to the Career Ladder following completion of the number assignment process.
List of numbers and assigned teams for the 2015 season
The following list is incomplete and unofficial and will be subject to constant change until the process is completed.
Teams marked in italics have, at time of writing, staked a claim to a specific number, but these claims have been subsequently superseded by other teams with higher precedence.
- Notes
1 Phoenix F1 missed the deadline to stipulate a second, unique number and therefore was forced to take part in the Supercup selection, behind all the series' teams in terms of priority, in order to choose their second number.
2 ST Racing missed the deadline to stipulate any numbers and therefore was forced to take part in the Formula Challenge selection, behind all the series' teams in terms of priority, in order to choose their second number.
3 Racing Team Schroten altered its original second number request from 98 to 93, a number hitherto requested by Dogecoin Racing. This requested alteration was disputed by admin Philip Cullen and ultimately RTS were denied this request, leaving them with their original choice of 98 and Dogecoin remaining with 93.
4 BackMarker Brigade, Centurion Grand Prix, MadCape Racing Team and Deltec Racing Team all missed the deadline to stipulate any numbers and were forced to take part in the final round of number selection, behind Arrow who had one number after their second choice was unavailable.
5 Epic Racing requested no specific numbers, except the "two highest remaining numbers" after the end of the selection process. Epic later clarified this to mean, in effect, the two smallest numbers left, and were ultimately assigned 38 and 49 by default.
6 Arrow International Racing missed the deadline to stipulate a second, unique number and therefore was forced to take part in the final round of number selection, but with priority over all of the the other teams in the final selection.
7 Downforce iZone Racing were admitted to the Career Ladder with a single-car entry following completion of the number assignment process. They were assigned the number 0.
