As a team owner, Simon had a very successful year with Torrent Motorsports claiming three drivers and constructors championships (2012 Supercup season , 2012 Formula Challenge season & 2012 World Sport Series season).

As a driver, Simon helped Halcyon Racing to claim the constructors title but playing a supportive role to eventual drivers champion Dave Carr-Smith in the 2012 Masters Series season.
