The 2023 Formula Sprint 1 will be the 2nd GPVWC Formula Sprint 1 season. The name Formula Sprint 1 was created to replace the GPVWC Supercup Series which did run for 14 seasons 2006/2021.

Teams and drivers
Team changes
- Nocturne, Gallery82 Motorsports, PZZW Racing Team, Valle eSports, Virtualdrivers with TX3 were all promoted to Superlights.
- Nova Simracing, PB Racing, Smile Power Racing opted not to continued after the 2022 Formula Sprint 1 season.
New & Returning entries
- Hyperion Esports formerly known as PLS Racing team joined the series after being dropped down from the Superleague Lights.
- TOP Esports, Rowen Grand Prix and Spark Racing Team , were all promoted from the Formula Sprint 2
- NetRex Grand Prix returned to the Career Ladder for the first time since 2019.
- Buttler Motorsport and Pixelate Esports joined at the beginning of 2023.
- EPLAB Simracing formerly known as Renegade joined at the beginning of 2023 and changed the name in January.
Driver Changes
- Alex Lehoux and Loïc Meunier moved up to FS1 and replace Jake Denehan and Darius Andrei at TCS Off Racing.
- Wopke Hoekstra returns to FS1 with HGP Motorsports full time, after competing just one round in 2022.
- Mike Kwint moved from AlphaDelta Racing Team to Malta Force GP, replacing team owner and 2019 Supercup champion Jason Muscat.
- Federico Russo and Mirko Lucchini joined AlphaDelta Racing team, with the latter joining the team at the end of 2022.
- Kevin Vooijs joins Santen Motorsports.
- Phillip König stays in FS1 and switched from Buildsim Vulpino Racing to Fryslan Racing.
- Mateusz Ziubinski joins Hyperion Esports, who moved down from SL2]].
- Szymon Frelik, 2022 Superlights runner-up, returns to FS1 with the promoted TOP Esports.
- Jack Mayor, 2022 Formula Sprint 2 champion, moved up to FS1, while remaining with TOP Esports.
- Kacper Nizio joins Rowen GP who were promoted from Formula Sprint 2 to Formula Sprint 1.
- Jan Dragoun moved down from SL to FS1 and joins Rowen GP.
- Vincent Gutt remained in FS1, switching from Valle eSports to Spark Racing Team who were promoted from Formula Sprint 2.
- Josh Downard leaves TOP Esports and joins Spark Racing Team.
- Omari Watson made the switch from HGP Motorsports to the returning NetRex Grand Prix team alongside Carlos Martin
- Emanuele Dellara and Luca Furia join the new team Buttler Motorsport.
- Federico Marino and Juanma Fuentes join the new team EPLAB Simracing.
- Loveen Kishore joins the new team Pixelate Esports.
- Perseus Miram leaves Buildsim Vulpino Racing and joins the new team Pixelate Esports.

2022 Calendar
The 2022 season continued the previous raceday the Supercup had in 2021 the Thursday, every two weeks. The 2022 calendar follows the 16-round limit introduced in 2019. The first round will take place at Imola and the last will take place in Brazil, with each race taking place on a Thursday, every two weeks. The 2022 season saw the first time GPVWC used to have two breaks a Spring and Summer Break.,
- Note 06-12-2022 the following calendar dates are not confirmed, but these are most likely the dates for the 2023 season, these dates are the 2022 racedates changed to 2023 dates.

- The Portuguese, Monaco, Austria and Mexican Grands Prix were removed from the calendar.
- The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix made its debut on the GPVWC 2023 calendar.
