Jason Muscat is a Maltese driver in the GPVWC, currently racing for Red Archer Virtual Racing. Muscat is unique among modern simracers because of the fact he races using a keyboard. This is something that has earnt him a lot of respect throughout his career.

Early Years

He started his sim-racing career 3 years ago in August 2008 and joined "Pro Drivers League" in January 2009 winning his first ever league race at Fuji. Pro Drivers League developed into F1 Legends where Jason took several podiums in Australia, Belgium, France and one more win at a wet Silverstone. When the series was cut short, he finished the season 3rd. In the second championship of F1 Legends he took podiums at Silverstone and Monza before history repeated itself and he was ranked unofficially 4th. Jason then moved from one league to another after that, including Sim-Pro Racing League, Hungarian Lystric League and ERL where he teamed up with old rival and friend Ojay Clark running the Maltese Thunder team. Jason's best result was finishing 2nd at Mexico in the first ERL GP season where he finished in 5th with 84 points. The next season was less successful but he still managed 6th with 64 points.

Superleague Career

Muscat and Jundt side by side at 2011 Mexican GP.
In 2009 Jason Muscat made his first appearance for GPVWC at the 2009 Spanish Grand Prix for Daniel Ortega Racing where he retired after a few laps due to an accident. He finished in the points one race later at the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix. In 2009 he achieved 3rd place award for Best Rookie of the season.

One year later Muscat signed a contract with Red Archer VRT halfway through the 2010 season. He suprised everyone by winning his first ever GPVWC race at 2010 Belgian Grand Prix in a race of attrition which saw him battle with the former Champion Joe Consiglio in the early stages. Muscat had improved a lot for the second half of the 2010 Superleague season and it didn't go unnoticed as he achieved three GPVWC awards: Most improved driver, Best of the Rest and 2nd place in Overachiever of the season.

Muscat started the 2011 Superleague season as one of the favourites for the title. Come the fourth race of the season the Red Archer was heavily developed and Muscat put the car to good use. He scored podiums in Abu Dhabi, China, South Africa, Great Britain and Bahrain. He also took two wins at Austria and Mexico. A string of bad luck with pc and connection issues cost Muscat sure podiums in France, Turkey and Canada. Come round 16 of the championship Muscat decided to sit out to help Red Archer VRT win the constructors championship, which they did. As a result of sitting out Muscat finished only 5th in the championship on 100 points.

Muscat's future is uncertain for the 2012 Superleague season, he is most likely to stay with Red Archer VRT but it is not known which role he will fill.
