    10 seconds time penalty
    5-slots grid penalty for the next event

    Going into T1, Zsupanek goes for a gap to the offside of Francic that is not there, particularly in the conditions. This causes contact with Francic and causes Francic to spin. The cockpit view seems to show that Zsupanek keeps his foot on the throttle for far too long whilst in contact with Francic. This collision has the knock-on effect of collecting Redshaw and Jordan in the collision affecting all four cars. Jacobs is also affected by the ensuing melee.
  • Ben Willis - Avoidable contact - Warning
    As a result of incident 3594 Zsupanek, Muscat slows to avoid the four car pile up ahead. Willis is behind Muscat and does slow. Although Willis should have perhaps slowed more than he did as everyone ahead of him started to slow for the incident ahead, visibility being so poor meant it would have been extremely difficult to judge how much braking was needed in that scenario.
