We spoke with a variety of drivers and team owners to find out the general feeling, after the first 6 rounds were completed, as to how the rest of the season might play out.
Luca Tizzano - Scuderia Freccia Nera
First up, we spoke with Luca Tizzano, head of Scuderia Freccia Nera. Speaking about his team, he said 'I think this season so far it has been sub-par. I expected the team to be in the top 10. We are not far from it but we need more consistent results.'

When asked about how the team might do moving forwards, he said 'With the change in driver lineup, I expect to get the team within the top 10. Andrea and Victor I have high hopes for them. I have to thank Damir and Josh for racing for the team.'

Finally, Luca predicted what many others suspect - 'I think Sandeep and Potentia will win the respective championships.' Let's see if he is right!

Samuil Slavev - Orbit Motorsports
Samuil was frank about his team's chances and results so far. 'This season has been a mixed experience for us but mostly positives. We've had flashes of potential, but consistency and a bit of luck have been missing in our second car. We've shown we belong, we're definitely not satisfied, we know there's more to gain and this is not even close to our ceiling.

Looking to the future is something that Samuil is keen to point out -
Orbit Motorsports are a new team to GPVWC, and he stated 'We're fully focused on consistency. After the break our goal is to fight for top 10 finishes in both races, help our drivers develop and become better as the season progresses and build a stronger foundation for the team for the future. We want to end the season knowing we took a step forward in every area performance, preparation, setup development and team atmosphere! I'm looking forward to seeing some great performances from Ben Skinner as he's been very consistent which is the name of the game here.

In short, we're at a good spot at this stage, and I think the pace is there to fight for the championship next season for sure.'

Finally, speaking about the 2025 season as a whole, he said 'I'd say Kaspar Koorits is the one to beat for the drivers title even though he's 2 points behind at the minute. For the teams championship, Potentia GP is almost a sure thing to win it as they're at 262 points has shown impressive form and depth they're executing races really well.'

Alice Stone - Venus Motorsports
We had a frank conversation with Alice. Managing the all-female Venus Motorsports team, she knows that the season hasn't gone their way yet. 'I'm going to be brutally honest. This season has not gone to plan at all. After a fairly optimistic start of the season, for the most part we've had nothing but disappointment all year so far. not saying that we expected to fight for wins and podiums but I expected us to score points at least once by now. We have fairly quick drivers, but so far we've been struggling with setups and one lap pace, causing us to start much lower than I believe we should be able to.'

However, she's keen to look forwards rather than back, saying 'I'm hoping to score our first points. Once we can do that, then we can make other goals for the rest of the year. It's a tough call this year, but my money is on Sandeep. I think he will pull through in the end.'

Justin van der Smissen - VMS-SunEdits Racing
Driver/owner Justin spoke with us about VMS' performance so far this year, too. He said: 'So far our season has not lived up to our expectations. On race pace we show to be very good contenders for points and top 10s but our team struggles over 1 lap pace which gives us a disadvantage for the race starts. So on that turf we are a bit behind others but it is something we try to improve every weekend.

I think the worst moments for me was the issue with stuttering I have had for the first rounds.'

He too was looking forward rather than back, saying 'Going into Montreal we hope to have solved the qualy trim problems we've been having. Hoping we get further up the grid as starting position so on race pace we don't have to do as much as we are right now. The goal is to get close to or into the top 10 in the constructor standings.'

Let's see if he's right!
